Social Workers at WellMind

WellMind’s social workers provide trauma-informed psychotherapy grounded in an understanding of community, family systems, and individual experience. Our team includes Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) who are committed to ethical practice, clinical growth, and high-quality care for our community.

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs)

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) has completed extensive graduate education and advanced clinical training, including a minimum of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience and successful completion of state and national licensing requirements. LCSWs are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions across the lifespan.

At WellMind, LCSWs provide psychotherapy for adults, children, adolescents, families, veterans, and first responders. Our LCSWs pursue advanced continuing education both within and beyond WellMind, including specialized training in areas such as EMDR therapy, DBT, couples work, ego-state therapy, and the treatment of dissociation, allowing care to be tailored to each client’s needs.

Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs)

A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) has completed all required academic training for the social work profession, including a master’s degree from a CSWE-accredited program, a supervised field placement, and successful completion of the national master’s-level licensing examination.

LMSWs at WellMind are working toward independent clinical licensure as LCSWs and are required to complete an additional 3,000 hours of supervised clinical practice and 100 hours of formal supervision before becoming eligible for the advanced clinical exam. LMSWs provide psychotherapy and mental health treatment within their scope of practice and receive ongoing supervision to support ethical, effective care.
