Paola ortiz, lmsw
Paola is a Licensed Master Social Worker, currently working towards becoming an LCSW. Paola graduated with her MSW from the University of Texas at El Paso and has a passion for working with youth in the border community. Paola has experience with individual, group, and family therapy working with diverse communities both in-person and virtually.
Paola’s practicum experience involved providing therapeutic services to children, youth, and adults using a trauma-informed and interdisciplinary behavioral health model. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and complex trauma. Paola is also working towards being EMDR trained to better serve her community. Using cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and other trauma-based modalities are all part of the therapeutic process.
She has experience in inpatient and outpatient settings working with people from all walks of life. Her passion and commitment has provided her the opportunity to work with the community using a holistic and person-centered approach, as she believes we as humans are doing the best we can with the resources we have.
She is supervised by Kathy Giovas, LCSW-S.
